We are pretty excited about our new location! And our extended summer hours!
Our meetings will now be held at the Christ-Roi/Christ the King Catholic Church, 300 Dominion Street on the corner of Dominion and Essex, just off Mountain Road at St. Augustine's Catholic Church. There is a huge parking lot for our use across the street from the entrance and there is street parking as well (if needed).
Enter through the double glass doors on the left, then go down the stairs to the massive, massive well lit room we will be using. There are washrooms, a huge kitchen that will be very useful on Sew Days, washrooms, a storage closet for our gear, and a stage..which will be very useful for trunk shows and workshops.
We are continuing to meet throughout the summer and for the months of June, July and August we are extending our hours to 5 - 9 pm so come and sew with your quilting friends! We will have our regular relaxed meeting/housekeeping session at 6:30 pm, introduce our program and then keep on sewing!
We now have three ironing boards, two with wool covers, a 24 x 36 inch cutting mat and table risers for everyone's use. We also have two extension cords and several surge protected power bars and so far, one iron. We will set up ironing stations at both the meetings and the Sew Days and these tools will be stored at the church year round. If you have an extension cord and a power bar, and if anyone is interested in donating an iron, please bring them along until we see how our set up will best work.
Our Sew Days will be held the second Saturday of every month beginning August 10th. The days will run from 8 am to 6 pm and we welcome everyone to come and sew with us! For a 5.00 fee there will be treats and a few door prizes, just to keep our spirits up and our energy levels running high. Membership is not a requirement.
Looking forward to seeing everyone Monday!
