We will provide links for the blocks and make note of any size adjustments or color requirements when the link is posted.
**From January on, the person who wins the blocks will be choosing the block and preparing a sample to show at the next meeting. For example, if Sally wins the blocks in January, she will show a sample in February for the block to be completed for March.

Bright and bold for the tumbler

May 27, 2019: Modern Improv Block #2 - Playful Placement
Cutting:
1 - 7.5 x 13 inches Gray (any shade from light to dark from solid or patterned)
1 - 7.5 x 13 inches White (any light shade from solid or pattern tone on tone)
1 - Bright color rectangle or square - the size you totally up to you!!
Trim block to 12.5" square
Directions:
- Sew a gray and white rectangle together
- Place a color rectangle or square somewhere on the block, over the seam - any size you wish to “audition” where it will be positioned.
- Cut a panel from the gray/white the same width as the colored piece.
- Cut gray/white pieces from the cut panel and sew to both side of the colored piece.
- Sew the white and gray pieces to either side and trim the block to 12.5 inches.

July 29th, 2019: Happy Trails
Jodi has designated this as a Pride Quilt in honor of Pride Month. Please make these blocks with black backgrounds and use rainbow colors. Each block is one color with black and if you follow Jenny Doan's instructions in the linked video, you will make two blocks at a time.
The block size seems to vary so use scant seams and trim to 8.5 inches or leave untrimmed as the blocks will probably all be trimmed to 8 inches to accommodate the variations.

August 26, 2019 : Arrow Block
Pat presented an arrow block which was inspired by a block found in a copy of "Modern Patchwork". Unfinished size is 9.5 inches. She asks that we include the two half square triangles that are created when we piece this block for the lotto.

Fabric colors: Green prints for the geese
Grey prints
White
Piece using scant seams and match your points and Deb says she cut her grey and white strips 2.5" x 6.75" so there is more margin for error.

October 28th, 2019
Kim Larracy presented Easy Half Square Triangles
Make half square triangles in two sizes: 4.5" unfinished and 2.5" unfinished
Colors: white and contrasting solid OR white and a modern print
To make:
Cut 1 white 3" square and 1 contrasting solid or modern print 3" square to make 2 HST's trimmed to 2.5" x 2.5"
Cut 1 white 5" square and 1 contrasting solid or modern print 5" sqaure to make 1 HST's trimmed to 4.5" x 4.5"
| You will get one entry for each 4.5" square and 4 of the 2.5" squares. Looks like I have to go back and make 4 more small blocks for each color....lol |

NOVEMBER 2019
Carol presented the next Block Lotto block - any star block with an unfinished size of 12.5 inches.
Colors to be used: purple, teal, turquoise, bright lime green and white background. Use all or any colors in your block.
Every 12 blocks will be drawn for.
**The first 12 blocks were won by Darline Ashford and the remaining 6 were won by Jody Mattatall.
Darline will present a new block lotto block in February.

FEBRUARY 2020
This month's block was presented by Darline. She provides us with the link to a very informative tutorial which offers lot of various layout options to make several sizes of tops. She was able to make a block in less than 10 minutes so they are easy to whip up!
