Our September meeting had us revert back to the regular hours of 6:30 to 9 pm.
This month Kim requested that we bring in our Challenge pieces and we had a few completed pieces, a few ready to be quilted and a selection of blocks.
| Clara's Challenge Quilt. She used the optional 13th block, an applique design, to create a matching cushion cover! |
| Kim's Challenge Quilt. Making all 13 blocks presented, she has used bold colors and black outlines to create her modern blocks. |

Lorette says: I knew I wanted to make the blocks in hexie shape, then turn them into a clock to symbolize the passage of time. However, a round clock is too traditional so I made a linear clock. I didn't want a triangular quilt and chose to represent the hours with the smallest pink hexies shadowing the rest of the hours in trapunto hexies. There's an error on the eleventh hour and I almost named it that but chose to leave the error to represent "changes" in our lives with the passage of time.

| Giselle introduces the next Hospice Quilt, the Rainbow Quilt which will be our Juvenile quilt. All directions are posted in our blog under Charity and Comfort Quilts. This is a super simple design that helps us reduce the amounts in our scrap bins! |
Giselle pieced the first Tiny House Blocks top. A second top is currently being pieced with the remaining blocks.
At the meeting Giselle asked for a volunteer to piece together the first set of pink and green string blocks. Maryse volunteered and sent Giselle a photo of the completed top which she pieced while at a weekend retreat!
We have 25 blocks ready for the second top and have volunteers to make another 4. If you are able to make any blocks to complete this top, please message us on our FB page or send an email. We still need 6 blocks.

| Maryse and Annette presented our next Challenge, Somewhere Over the Rainbow! All the details are on our blog under Challenges and all MMQG members were sent the complete instructions via email. They have designed this Challenge so that members can join at almost any time and as well, accommodates members who may miss a meeting. |
| Many, many thanks to our members who continue to support our Bring and Buy Table and help fund the Hospice Project! |
| Lise showed us all how to make burrito or hot dog pillow cases. She even brought prepared kits with her and members sewed pillow cases for a charitable project in her area. |
| Lise provided us with instructions which have been posted on our blog under Programs. |
| Carol's beautiful Gypsy Wife Quilt which she completed this summer. |
| Members made postcards for our first postcard swap with the PEIMQG. |
Many thanks to Sue M, Clara and Kim for sharing photos for this blog post and our IG post!
